This isn't the first time Lana Del Rey and French DJ/producer Monsieur Adi have met. During the rise of Del Rey's album Born To Die, we heard the Frenchman remix some of her most epic tracks, such as "Summertime Sadness" and "Born To Die." But here, he takes on one of her newer tracks "Brooklyn Baby."
Originally, "Brooklyn Baby" just featured Del Rey's vocals along with some subtle strumming guitars, atmospheric effects, and just a dash of percussion (primarily relying on the snare). But the producer extraordinaire wanted to bring out more than just the sadness. Taking her vocals, he slowly builds beats that build up on each other and then eventually drops into banging trap beats surrounded by his signature use of strings.
Monsieur Adi definitely knows his Lana Del Rey. His newest remix is another epic track added to his catalog. Don't be expecting to wallowing in your sheets this winter to this track. Expect yourself to be up all night dancing.
The original version comes off Lana Del Rey’s newest album, Ultraviolence.
