Man, this song is good.
Described in the press release as "dystopian space funk," there is a lot to discover in this track. For starters, it's got one hell of a bassline, deep saxophone grooves, funky guitar riffs, and sultry vocals -- but there's a lot more going on between those leading roles, and I highly recommend taking a little peek inside. This is easily one of the best tracks I've heard in months.
LÁ-BAS is the collaborative effort between Nathan Larson, Jordan Kern, and Angelica Allen. It's fun, it's sexy, it's completely different than anything else coming out right now.
Their debut album is set for release on April 24, and features a pretty ridiculous collection of musicians. From Jon Natchez (Beirut, The War On Drugs, David Byrne) to Daniel Mintseris (St. Vincent, David Byrne) to Eric D. Johnson (Fruitbats, The Shins) to Grant Zubritsky (MS MR, Nina Persson band, Doe Paoro), and loads more.
I have a feeling this is going to be one of the coolest albums of 2015.
