"Fragile" is Kygo's latest single, a collaboration with British singer Labrinth. It premiered two weeks ago during a live performance on Norwegian television, and exhibits a departure from the tropical house vibe he is known for.
The Norwegian producer has withdrawn from the sunshine saturated melodies in favor of a more natural, unaltered sound. He's collaborated with a multitude of artists in preparation for his forthcoming album, Cloud Nine, allowing each unique voice to lead his hand in production.
"Baby, I'm fragile" Labrinth sings in a gritty voice that is anything but. Featuring subtle electric guitar accents, a triumphantly built chorus and an a capella break section, it seems we can expect to hear a more diverse sound on the new release.
After 18 months of writing and a slight delay, Kygo has announced that his debut album will drop May 13th. Preview or preorder it, and keep your eyes peeled for new singles leading up to the release.
