Why do we like this?
Holy star-studded house explosion! Kraak & Smaak, the Netherlands trio consisting of Oscar de Jong, Mark Kneppers and Wim Plug, may be new to the Shuffle, but they're a classic staple to many many others, including myself. I often use them when filling out the "Sounds like" section on the blog, but haven't yet introduced a Kraak & Smaak tune. Silly me!
Today however, Detroit Swindle (another one of my staples!) just dropped this rework of "The Future Is Yours," and it seemed like the perfect time to preach about two of my favorite production teams.
What's unique about this remix of "The Future Is Yours" is that it's ever-so-slightly out of the box for Detroit Swindle. I suppose it's because they don't normally mess with full vocals, but they've expertly taken K&S's disco house version and made it into a deeper dance floor banger. It's like these guys can do no wrong! As a matter of interest, I also received an email recently with the first release from Detroit Swindles brand new label, Heist. I don't know about ya'll, but I sense a new favorite label in the making.
But I digress; The Future Is Yours (Remixes) is out June 24 exclusively on Beatport with a general release July 8. Just one more reason to love the summer!
