Surprise! It's me with another Kraak & Smaak song. I can't help myself, they've been killing it with these single releases leading up to their forthcoming album, Pleasure Centre, out on October 18th (tomorrow) via their own label, "Boogie Angst."
New Zealand-based duo, imugi 이무기, bring us their underground savvy insight to this downtempo track. Lush, nonchalant vocals match the perfected layering of synths, glossy bass, and trumpet. Overall, a laid-back yet carefully crafted, soulful creation.
The preceding single releases, that I previously reviewed here, have continuously escalated my anticipation for this album. Kraak & Smaak have provided a playlist on their Spotify titled "Pleasure Centre Inspirations," demonstrating a range of diverse influences from french-pop to '90s hip-hop.
