It's probably not the hugest surprise that British rockers KOYO remind me a little bit of Everything Everything. That's because their latest single "You Said It" was produced by Mike Horner who has worked with Everything Everything and Franz Ferdinand.
While this is the first time that the band have crossed my path, it's certainly not their first time at the rodeo. "You Said It" is set to be released on the band's sophomore album, which will be available at the end of the month.
The song begins with a light-hearted falsetto, but quickly accelerates into a more-aggressive and intricate math-rock inspired ditty that has me drawing comparisons to Incubus. It's dark, but still somewhat upbeat. The combination seems to work!
If you dig their vibe, you can find more of it here.
