Still upset that Das Racist broke up? Well, while I can't say that they're getting back together, I can share a brand new track off the newest Kool A.D solo album.
After releasing two different mixtapes (19 and 63), Kool A.D. has brought us a brand new album calledNot O.K.,and it should help to fill the Das Racist-shaped hole missing in your heart. It features tracks with the likes of Del the Funky Homosapien and production from names like Jay Casio and Iglooghost.
One of the highlights of the album is a chilled out track produced by none other than chillwave king Toro Y Moi, and features a verse from Amaze 88. "Fettucini" has a beat that is definitely a bit daisy rap influenced, with a bass line reminiscent of A Tribe Called Quest and De La Soul. The song really takes off as Kool A.D. stumbles his way into the track with that swagger that made Das Racist so much fun to listen to. Part hip-hop and reggae, Kool as a voice you just can't forget -- one that's definitely strong enough to carry an album on its own.
You can go get your own download of Not OK over on Kool A.D.'s Bandcamp page for the perfect price of name your own.
