Initially delicate and suspenseful, kmoe’s “flutter” transforms and accelerates into a spirited electronic masterpiece, amplifying the 16-year-old’s natural gift of making music. From producing to songwriting, the Vancouver-based artist encompasses the entire creative process.
Like many, his start began with messing around on Garageband, but unlike others is how early he began his musical journey. At just eight years old, kmoe was experimenting with musical softwares and was constantly inspired by different artists as he grew into his own listening. Raised on Justin Timberlake, music had always been a consistent, influential piece in his life, and now finds inspiration from artists like, Deadmau5, Frank Ocean, and osquinn.
From the very beginning, “flutter” shines tremendously with spotlighted vocals. It feels dreamy, ambient, and entirely cinematic with each sonic component functioning to service its whole. A track this massive from an artist only just beginning is something to be recognized. This is only the start of kmoe’s career and I can only imagine the new heights in which he’ll progress his sound.
