I'm not sure I ever know what's going on in King Krule songs, but they somehow always work nonetheless. It's the kind of music that makes you feel a little weird inside but at the same time, has you totally captivated – it's slightly nefarious, yet also sultry, with a hint of groove that causes a kind of limerence.
His music seems to be getting darker, and with it, his music videos. In the video for "Dum Surfer," everyone is dead, and begins with Archy (King Krule) being wheeled out on a stretcher before grabbing the mic. It's a pallid, obscure and grossly entertaining display of imagery – as I hinted at earlier, I'm not quite sure about anything when it comes to King Krule.
"Dum Surfer" comes from his forthcoming album, The OOZ, which is available for pre-order here, and set for release on October 13th.
