Rihanna’s newest album ANTI wasn’t full of bangers and anthems. In fact, “Work” was probably the only song on the album that could be considered the “big single.” The album was full of brooding down-tempo songs. It was a new Rihanna that ears were experiencing. And although there weren’t slathers of dance numbers, the album overall was a solid effort by the Barbadian.
Jordanian singer Dana Salah, also known as King Deco, was attracted to Rih’s track “Needed Me” off the new album. She stated that “there was something so Middle Eastern about that hook melody” that it pulled her in.
King Deco’s cover doesn’t stray too far from the original. Her vocals vibrantly shine in its own way over the song’s airy and ethereal production. King Deco deliver’s an experience that is just as dreamy if not more than the original.
