Why do we like this?
If you're an 80s kid like me, then you might have a sweet tooth for good ol' 90s jams. And if you simply just like the 90s and/or house beats, then put the latest album from Kill Them With Colour on your radar. The mysterious group has just braided a lanyard of tracks together into a nine-piece album, Tropic Thunder LP, that pulls samples from the 90s.
One track in particular that catches my vibe is the track "True Love," which samples the classic Spandau Ballet track "True," or maybe it's more widely known from the sample in PM Dawn's "Set Adrift on Memory Bliss." Either way, Kill Them With Colour's choice and arrangement of the old sample (which adds a house-y bass feel) is one that is setting me adrift on memory bliss -- pun intended.
If you like what you hear, head over to their SoundCloud page to hear more of their collection. One track worth noting is the "Bitch Don't Kill My Vibe" remix -- it's $$$.
