Why do we like this?
Remember when music was all about cool? A throw-back to a bygone era, Sydney's Kill City Creeps have developed a twisted mixture of '60s psychedelia and '70s glam rock bound to intrigue. For those who enjoy music without mind-numbing auto-tune or endless waves of synth, you might want to give these guys a listen.
Flamboyant, edgy and sassy, their 5-track demo is dripping with coolness. Lead-singer Daniel Darling is a talented and engaging frontman, and the awesomely-named Knives delivers slicing guitar riffs throughout. Mon Cherie and Nina B provide skillful support on bass and organ respectively.
First single "I Got a Letter" contains thumping drums, revolving organ and screaming vocals. This is a classic psych-punk track which exemplifies the Kill City Creeps' diverse style. This is the sort of music you would find in an old Grindhouse flicks, especially the demos fourth track "Mustang Mama."
They themselves describe their sound perfectly:
If you don't have a time machine, this is the next best thing.

This is the sound of / A depleted youth, / Broken, bored, wired and horny.
