The artist name, track title, and subject matter of this one are all unfortunately relevant- especially if you're in the US. With all the chaos and turmoil in the world, we need groups like Kids Of The Apocalypse to remind us "we can make a better life."
Though the track itself is built on a cool, sinister hip-hop beat, the song offers an uplifting message. The ghostly background voices are hypnotic, almost soothing, lulling the listener into a gentle state of acceptance.
The Kids have been known to create Gorillaz-style videos along with their releases, adding a visual component to their music. "Better Life" was directed by Ernest Desumbila, and shows a clash between animated and organic elements. It wanders through images of a chaotic world in ruins with small glimmers of hope sewn throughout.
