Why do we like this?
How to describe Kid Cudi's new track? The first words that came to mind were "predictably awful." Besides the backing instrumentation (a reverse clip of MGMT's "Congratulations"), I've got to rate this as one of the more painful songs that I've endured. And certainly one of the worst I've posted.
You might ask why I'd post something I don't like. Well, I'm probably posting this because I wanted so badly for it to be good. Clearly Kid Cudi did something right back in the day, and I'm pretty sure it was sampling great indie tracks and actually rapping. Alas, that's not his agenda anymore.
I suppose it's not a bad thing that Cudi has moved on from what made him successful in the past. It's just that he insists on singing songs, and given that he can't sing for the life of him, it's probably not the best route. The last thing I wanted to hear here was WZRD.
