If there are two hip-hop artists that I gravitate towards from the last few years, they would hands down be Kid Cudi and Kendrick Lamar. Seeing as the latter has blown up in the last year or so, and the former is about to drop a new album, a collaboration makes complete sense.
This brings us to "Solo Dolo Part 2," which is just that -- a collab project between Cudi and Lamar. With a simultaneously retro yet intensely hard beat, these two kids throw down a seriously heavy tune. This drifts quite far from Cudi's original "Solo Dolo" track, which carried a more melancholic feeling throughout. Kendrick's hard-hitting flow compliments the more melodic nature of Cudi's delivery, making this a track I'm amazingly glad to be covering right now.
Cudi is bequeathing his eagerly anticipated second album April 23, 2013. I'll for sure be grabbing a copy.
