Why do we like this?

For the past month I've been binge listening to Hudson Mohawke and Rustie, and there hasn't been much that's came close to HudMo's Lanterns LP or Rustie's Green Lantern. At least not in the field of a full length release. However, Khamsin's Maelstrom nearly comes close in the lane of singles.

The vibrance of this record is absolutely refreshing, when majority of songs in the field have been starting to all sound the same. As the track is very accurately named, "Maelstrom" is an amalgamation of whirling synths, vocal chops and warm, colorful sound design.
