After duetting with Imagine Dragons at this year's Grammys on their hit "Radioactive," Kendrick Lamar has joined forces with Australia's own Tame Impala for the track "Backwards." Taken from the diverse soundtrack to the soon-to-be-released action/adventure film Divergent, "Backwards" finds Lamar dropping lyrical fire over Tame Impala's "Feels Like We Only Go Backward," a track off their 2012 hit album Lonerism.
The results are spectacular, with Lamar going HAM over Tame Impala's hazy stoner rock. It appears the self-proclaimed 'King of Hip Hop' can do no wrong, and with word he is a preparing a new album for release later this year, it looks like his reign is only just beginning.
The Divergent soundtrack is released Tuesday, March 11. The film is in cinemas Friday, March, 21.
