Why do we like this?

I'm always a little suspect of hip-hop covers, so when I opened my email to find someone had taken on Kendrick Lamar's uplifting, "i," I was expecting the worst. Surprisingly, Los Angeles singer vōx has delivered the goods.

Along with producer Dylan Brady, vōx has completely re-worked Lamar's original, turning "i" into a dark, synth driven number still retaining Lamar's message of self-love and personal expression.
