Why do we like this?
Well, isn't this quite the collaboration! If you've watched Spike Jonze's Oscar-nominated movie Her, then you might've heard "The Moon Song" performed by Yeah Yeah Yeahs' front woman Karen O. Turns out she originally wrote it as duet. The alternate version was released today, and it features none other than Ezra Koenig from Vampire Weekend!
The song itself is nominated for "Best Original Song," but having heard both versions now I can safely say that this duet shines even brighter than the original. There are the subtle differences, like the added piano and neat interplay between the male and female vocalists, that make this version that much more charming to listen to.
All the best to Karen O in her pursuit of that Oscar!
