Why do we like this?

The grooving, driving bass-line and steady 4/4 drums on this one reminded me instantly of the sparse, rhythmic and bass-heavy sound of ESG (the New York post-punk / dance-funk band): a band I am personally a huge fan of.

On "WOMAN," the second single off a forthcoming collaborative album, I’d like to think Danger Mouse and Karen O have taken their mutual love for that distinct 1980’s ESG funk sound on a psychedelic road trip through the wild west.

Their full album Lux Prima drops on the 15th of March on BMG. In the meantime have a listen to this one. And if you're keen to delve in even further, the album's title track is available to stream here.
