Movement is in full swing here in my town. As you know, I write about electronic music all the time, so I'm not like, dedicating today's post to Detroit's biggest Techno festival — "Rain" isn't even techno, so maybe that's my point.
In the midst of all the hard techno, industrial, epic festival flavors you may have to explore a little deeper to find someone spinning a track in this vein. Chances are good that if you do find it, it will either be me spinning my Indie Shuffle favorites at tonight's unofficial after party on Griswold (shameless plug), a DJ from the UK and/or Australia, or Moon Boots.
The greater point I'm making is that I enjoy KAASI's style. "Rain" is a feel-good, sunny house romp and exactly what I would want to hear in a festival setting. It's chill while still being danceable. It doesn't assault your ears and it promotes friendly, positive commingling. I mean, there's more to it than that, but I'm starting to get wordy here.
"Rain" comes from KAASI's Tramuntana EP which drops June 1 via ANNOA Records.
