Why do we like this?

Holy shit. I just spent 20 minutes trying to remember where I heard this track's sample. I first pinpointed it to Drake's "Going In For Life" and then remembered it was on 213's "Another Summer," then ended up with The Temptations' Eddie Kendricks "Intimate Friends."

Pretty safe to say it's hard to be "original" these days. Lots of respect when an artist can take something so tried-and-true and really freshen it up.

And K-os (pronounced chaos and an acronym for “Knowledge of Self") has done just that. The Canadian emcee took a fucking legendary little lick and made it his own. 

Hot out the kitchen, apparently it's his first track in over two years. New LP coming out on August 28. Huzzah.
