Why do we like this?
This song begins fast and furious, and never lets up. Based out of Los Angeles, BetatraXx (formerly known as Redlight) has been producing pretty high-quality, banging tracks for a few years now. He claims that his approach is to find songs that need improvement, and then do just that. What defines "improvement"? For one, dancier = better.
Personally, I don't feel that this formula is readily apparent in his remix of Justice's "We Are Your Friends". The original featured a funky bass line that, no doubt, got a number of hipsters gyrating. That doesn't mean that his remix went the wrong direction, however. What this BetatraXx remix does is tone down the original's strikingly repetitive vocals (for the better?), and take the dancing in a whole different direction -- it certainly isn't a bad move.
