Why do we like this?

I try not to hold bad PR against an artist. So when I get three emails from the same PR team in the span of what feels like 15 minutes, I must fight my instinct to archive that shit out-of-hand, banishing the promoter, and whatever they're promoting, to the seventh level of inbox hell.

I'm glad I bothered to check out "This Time" by Oakland rapper Just Rese and Chicago vocalist Christian JaLon. Produced by Oakland beat maker Wax Roof, "This Time" is a short, effective burst of positive rap momentum for the Bay Area. You can read more about Rese's new single in SF Weekly.
