Oh, Jungle. The things you do to my mind, body, and soul.
The first single off their upcoming album, “Keep Moving” is guaranteed to do exactly that: keep you moving from the get-go. I started writing this review and actually had to stop 30 seconds into it to groove around my office with the biggest smile on my face. Those funky basslines, glittering, joyous synths, and driving disco beat are what we’ve come to know and love Jungle for, and this track has all that in spades. This is an instant good mood song; “Keep Moving” delivers disco-hip-hop-inspired euphoric soundscapes that are sure to put a smile on your face in no time flat. The 70’s style reverb-laden guitar solo at the end blew me out of the water. But when the song was over, I found myself pulled back towards that water, and just wanted to keep swimming. This one’s going to get stuck in your head for days. And you’re going to love every damn second of it.
Jungle’s new album, Loving in Stereo, is due out August 13th and is a hotly awaited follow-up to 2018’s For Ever. Their new album is somewhat of a natural evolution that began with their 2014 self-titled album, and has culminated in a more mature, expansive, and technical offering while still remaining true to their disco roots and signature sound that has served them well on previous tracks like “Busy Earning”, “Time”, “Casio” and “Happy Man”.
Bring it, Jungle. Bring all of it. I’ll be here waiting with open arms.
