Why do we like this?
A new, dreamy Julianna Barwick music video dropped -- a good reminder that her 2013 album Nepenthe was released back in August of this year on Dead Oceans. Have you checked it out yet?
Barwick's music oozes out of your speakers, while her voice suspends in the air. It's largely a product of her church choir upbringing, reminiscent of that scene in Harmony Korine's Mister Lonely where nuns are jumping out of planes. It's dream pop of the surreal and downright eerie nature, music built around multiple loops and layers best enjoyed laying in your bed where you pretend to see the stars through the ceiling.
You can reach Julianna's artist page on Dead Oceans. Follow her on Twitter.
