Why do we like this?

Following in the footsteps of her musically inclined father, Juliana Daugherty grew up playing multiple instruments and attended a conservatory before ditching classic music for emotive driven folk rock.

"Baby Teeth" is the latest single from the Virginia native's forthcoming debut album Light. Daugherty's hypnotic vocals coo over the calming guitar riff and will leave you with a feeling of fuzzy melancholy. This is an indie folk winner very much in the mould of early Angel Olsen and great Joni Mitchell. Daugherty explains "Baby Teeth" is:

Essentially a breakup song, only all the intense, post-relationship feelings are subdued by many, many years of distance and perspective... with a sonically bright and shimmery musical landscape -- it's a little like getting the final word in.

Light is set for release June 1.
