Aussie wonder Julia Jacklin has just announced the release of her sophomore album, Crushing, for early next year. Having already dropped the awesome single, "Body," Jacklin has followed up with the intoxicating second single, "Head Alone."
Continuing to mature as an artist, "Head Alone" is another step forward in Jacklin's evolution, sounding more like her group Phantastic Ferniture than her previous solo material. It's another stunning track featuring Jacklin's unique vocals, backed by rolling indie rock instrumentation. Speaking on the track Jacklin said:
I wrote most of 'Head Alone' out on tour, and it was one of the songs I kept coming back to over a few months. It took me a while to figure out what I was trying to say, but it’s just a plea to those around to give me space. How if you don't carve out space for yourself, physically and emotionally, no one’s going to do it for you. I was also just pretty sick of being touched.
Jacklin is a personal favorite, and this album is shaping up as one of 2019s must hear releases which I can't wait to listen to in full.
Crushing is set for release on February 22nd.
