Joywave has toured so extensively in the last few years that I'm sure most of us have ended up sweaty at one (or, in my case, three) of their shows. As much as I love the chance to jump around to "Destruction" twice per gig when they're in town, I'm glad the lads have taken a much-needed break to make something brand new.
As with all the best Joywave tunes, "Content" sounds a little like an orchestra, a little like it emerged from an industrial warehouse overtaken by robots, and a little like I want to dance. It's a bit slower and more dramatic (those long instrumentals! those wails! those drums!) than some of their other stuff, but knowing these guys, it just means they're using this killer re-introduction to build up to something way bigger.
