This song has grown on me the more I listen to it. There's plenty of layering, and the style itself is fairly unique in a sort of folktronica way (some people would compare it to Sufjan Stevens?).
So, who is Joshua Worden? Well, he's a dude in his 30s who too three years to write an album. As explains:
"I got married, bought a house, completely renovated it. All this 'life stuff' started taking up more of my time that I was devoting to music, as it often does when you're in your 30s and having to grow up a little bit."
So uhh, as someone who just bought a house, is mid-renovation, and has a 4-week-old baby at home, I gotta say I feel for ya dude. Fortunately those 3 years of work seem to have been worthwhile.
You'll catch this as part of a new EP called Cinders, out sometime soon from what I can see.
