Ok, let me set the scene for you, my dear reader.
The red and mustard striped cushions had been placed on the bench that found its place beneath the giant tree that creaked with wisdom. The squirrels played overhead as the neighbor's cat came over for his daily soak of the sun in his claimed sun-spot by the pool. It is here where we find a little Jami, that's me by the way, with headphones in tow, as usual.
The perfect conditions for a damn fine song to snake its way with ease into little Jay's heart. So when Joshua Worden's "Alright" lay next in the queue, everything was lining up quite charmingly.
"Alright" caught me right from the start with its piano intro — subtle yet emotive. The vocals then took this all the way home as gentle percussion elevated the track to the point of me saying to myself 'I love this song!'
Recorded at his home studio in Atlanta, it's the fruit of a long, deeply introspective period. And so, little Jay picked that fruit from the tree, bit down, and savored the nectar. I hope you do too, dear reader.
