Al Capone's Sad Insta Post
A 4 string bass, wailing vocals, and a montage vibe are a 3-point hit contract I've been waiting for.
I've been binge-watching a lot of Mafia pop-culture and I don't know if this is all coincidental or me just projecting my need for more intrigue onto an already awesome song, but this sounds like the intro to all those things. Every mafia-themed show, film, book or video game needs this at the start. It's the slow bass build that gets me — a slow-burn family drama that gives me an almost immediate sense of royalty and position in a chaotic and cutthroat world.
Obviously, the song is a reference to the dynasty of family, whether through friendship or blood, but that doesn't take away from the feel of the song — the overwhelmingly cool feeling, like years of history concentrated into a singular sound.
