Jordan Mackampa is a "man made up of misspelt lyrics, milky tea and Etta James tracks playing on a vintage wooden steepletone," according to his Facebook page.
Hailing from the Democratic Republic of Congo and growing up between London and Coventry, Jordan combines his timeless soulful voice with melodic sun-drenched tones to create beautifully crafted songs.
His track "Same Faces" was sent to me by a friend a couple of days ago, and it was immediately relatable. The acoustic introduction moves into an almost jazz ensemble accompaniment, all held together by Jordan's soulful vocals and heart-wrenching lyrics.
