Jordan Bratton's long awaited return continues to gather speed with the release of new single "Spaces." Following on from the mellow "Pieces" – his first song in over a year – "Spaces" is an icy R&B jam detailing his evolution as an artist.
While his early output had more of a commercial pop vibe, both "Pieces" and "Spaces" are electronic takes on R&B, with Bratton falling more in the Frank Ocean and Khalid camp. I'm personally excited to hear what else he has in-store on forthcoming project Driver's Ed' Mixtape. Of the song itself he had this to say:
"Deep down I never felt like I was good enough for anybody really . Always had a lot of unrequited love issues that took over my outcomes with companionship. When I was listening back to the reference I remember thinking how oblivious I was to the signs of my heart slipping into a coma. I wasn't aware of the fact that it was affecting me in the worst way.”
Driver’s Ed’ Mixtape is out October 20.
