Why do we like this?
It's been a while since we've heard anything new from Sydney-based Chymes, but the duo of Kiersten Nyman and Cameron Taylor have returned with a surprising cover of Jon Bellion's "All Time Low."
Despite being a song about the lowest point of a previous relationship he was in, "All Time Low" is an upbeat pop number with a touch of hip-hop about it. Chymes have done away with the bouncy production in favor for striking synths and subtle guitar lick. The duo's harmonies are on point too, giving the track an added feeling of intimacy.
This minimal take on the song is quite different but really works, thanks in part to Chymes lush harmonies. Hopefully new material will be forthcoming before the year is out.
