Symmetry/Themes For An Imaginary Film is a conceptual project between Glass Candy, Chromatics, Mirage, and Desire. Released over a year ago, this two-hour score piece takes on you a cinematic journey of sounds from the electric lightness of day to the dark, menacing depths of the night.
After this masterpiece of an album was released, Johnny Jewel issued a promo album titled The Messenger which has recently been re-released thanks to the good folks at Italians Do It Better. With mysterious tracks that fall under the titles of "Vanishing Point," "Roulette," and "The Hunt," you are left to your own thoughts, imagination, and experiences, creating lingering vignettes as the songs change in pace and attitude.
Starting off with a steady anticipation, "The Hunt" lures you under its spell almost immediately. Around the 50-second mark, you reach a robust climax that recalls mystery, synergy and confidence that ultimately resolves itself, vanishing into a moment of disillusion.
