Why do we like this?
I wish nothing but the best for Johnny Astro. I've known the Dallas emcee/producer for a minute now, and it seems with every track I learn a little bit more about the man behind the talent. Joints like "The Skywalkers" and "The Nightlife Nightlights" opened my ears to Astro's clutch use of samples, which amplify his heartfelt wordplay and give immense replay value to what would be lackluster records in the hands and minds of lesser artists.
"Goodnight America" serves as the intro to Astro's forthcoming mixtape, TheWorldEnds, and may just be his most ambitious track to date. Everyone and their mother has sampled Adele, but to deny "Goodnight America" on those grounds alone would be a mistake. Give it a listen and hear for yourself why I am so hyped on Johnny Astro.
