Why do we like this?
John Mark McMillan is a North Carolina-bred troubadour who sounds kind of like if The National played gospel tunes. He's famous in the churchgoing community for his whisky-smooth baritone and his uber popular singalong "How He Loves."
However he's shown that he's capable of more subtle, genre-crossing tracks that appeal to a wider audience, such as this new gem "Love at the End," which sounds like it was written on a train at sunrise after a long night of soul searching. It's hopeful, authentic, and just plain good. It also happens to come along with a nice video that just made Vimeo's staff picks.
Look for "Love at the End" on iTunes now and on his upcoming March 4 LP release, Borderland.
