John Legend doesn't get the credit he deserves. Not only is he one of the greatest soul singers in the business, but the dude has nine Grammy Awards. Nine!
Although things have been a little quite on the Legend front, the G.O.O.D. Music client finally has a new album on the way, with a couple of songs currently doing the rounds on the interwebs. You can check out latest release, "Made To Love," here, but it was "Who Do We Think We Are" that really caught my attention. A soothing mixture of Al Green's sensual style and Stevie Wonder's Motown influences, Legend's vocals are dynamite on the track, with a chorus that gets stuck in your head for all the right reasons. Miami heavyweight and frequent collaborator Rick Ross lends a verse that's typical Ross, full of bravado and boasts of his riches that merges effortlessly with Legend's neo-soul.
