Beauty is only skin deep in Joe Avio’s latest single, “Models.” Feeling unsettled and imbalanced, the 22-year-old draws back to the time when he lost sight of himself. Recalling these feelings, he explains, “When I moved to LA, I very much chose to see in my surroundings what I thought the city was supposed to be.” The song outlines a common feeling; when the outside world directly impacts your scope of influence. Moving into a reactive state, it alters everything starting with the way you see yourself.
Avio says, “‘Models’ details my initial shifting of values, difficulties with feeling inconsequential when surrounded by greed, and my eventual return to normalcy.” He has crafted a brilliant song that resonates with the deepest parts of introspection. It’s a step back from the scenic value of our lives and focuses inward, as he perfectly states, “At the end of the day, we always find and re-find equilibrium in the madness - regardless of what it may take for us to find it.” I hope you enjoy the listen and stay tuned for more releases from Joe Avio.
