This song is like a BOGO deal since it feels like two completely different songs in one (and if the song itself doesn't grab your attention right away, perhaps the group’s name will).
“The City” kicks off with the lead singer hitting some very high notes that almost sound a little squeaky. Her intriguing vocals are hard to shy away from.
The beat drops in the middle of the song. It sounds as if you have a bad connection and the song is going fuzzy, but before long, it suddenly turns into an electronic tune. The choppy, layered audio reminds me of something you'd stumble upon in a contemporary art exhibit. Overall, it’s hard to describe it with words, which leads me to believe it's solely meant to be experienced for yourself.
This song is extremely well crafted and they each put loads of skill and talent into it. “The City” is truly a hidden gem worth discovering.
