Described by
NYLON as "the lovechild of Nico and Joanna Newsom," British singer-songwriter Marika Hackman does the latter flattering justice in this enchanting cover of "81."
With a debut mini-album already under her belt, the enigmatic beauty continues to channel her delicate brand of brooding folk in the release of her new EP,
Sugar Blind, produced by Alt-J's Charlie Andrew and due out December 9. "81" is the EP's closing track, an intimate interpretation that seamlessly showcases Hackman's sublime vocals in a piece of musicianship that could soundtrack a fairytale.
Having festival-hopped throughout the summer and provided support for Laura Marling's European and Australian tours, Hackman will be heading back into the studio to start work on her debut album this month. In the meantime, you can stream the EP
