I'm going to be completely honest: I'm kind of sick of remixes. And covers. And revamps. Don't get me wrong; we post a lot of that type of music here on Indie Shuffle, and I really do enjoy a lot of it (especially
this remix and
this cover). But sometimes it's nice to hear some solid new, original releases . And that's exactly why I'm posting UK-based Jim Noir's "One Note World."
Noir just released a five track EP,
Rainbuns and Blank Ends, featuring this psych-pop song, and I'm really feeling it. It channels the best of Simon & Garfunkel, with a bit of The Shins and Super Furry Animals (remember them?) thrown into the mix.
He's also found a cool creative solution to the music free-for-all (aka illegal downloads) on the Internet -- join his
Noir Club for £2.99 (~$5) per month and you'll get exclusive new material as its released. Pretty savvy, eh?
