Having helped produce Bon Iver's 2020 singles, “PDILF” and “AUATC,” San Francisco born Jim-E Stack has now got the creative genius to collaborate on his fantastic new release, "Jeanie."
Following on from singles "Note To Self" and "Sweet Summer Sweat," Stack's latest collaboration is a sonically dynamic shot of early '00s electronic. It's a weird comparison to make, but the song reminds me of Jack's Mannequin at his most electric.
Iver's auto-tuned vocals float purposely over Stack's rhythmic production, transforming what could have been a sub-standard synth track into a groove-laden experience showcasing both artist's incredible talent.
"Jeanie" is taken from Stack's forthcoming album,Ephemera, and if the album is half as good as the three songs released so far, there's no doubting it will be on of the releases of 2020.
Ephemera is set for release October 30.
