Why do we like this?
One of Iceland’s most prolific talents (in 2016 alone she released new work with Gangly, Samaris, and Pascal Pinon) Jófríður Ákadóttir is back with “Wires,” under her JFDR solo moniker.
“Wires” is a rather spellbinding track, quick and slow at the same time - Ákadóttir’s dreamy vocals flitter and fight with a lonely guitar over an ever-present pulse of percussion.
The track was co-produced with Shahzad Ismaily (who has previously worked with the likes of Tom Waits, Lou Reed and Yoko Ono) and comes with an accompanying visual, showing Ákadóttir dancing by a river in her native land.
“Wires” is taken from JFDR’s upcoming album Brazil, released on March 17 via her own label, White Sun Records.
