While he describes himself as "a cool 18-year-old bloke who is old enough to drink a beer," Adelaide musician Jesse Davidson is much more than that. We've been following his work for around two years now, dating back to his gorgeous single "Flaws," and have been spinning his debut EP Ocean ever since its release in April.
After the success of its first single "Big Bois Gotta Eat," which was added to rotation on Triple J and helped Davidson pick up support slots for the likes of Mac DeMarco and Wild Beasts, we now turn our attention to the EP's title track, "Oceans."
From the start, you'll notice something special about the way Davidson's vocals draw you in -- he possesses an unbelievably mature, substantial tone for someone so young. A warm, dreamy pop-rock ballad, "Ocean" is a track bound to get under your skin and stay there as you inevitably play it over and over.
Davidson has got a busy schedule ahead, with performances locally and abroad before he settles down to record his next release in London.
