Jeffrey Paradise has spent the better part of the last decade as a member of the vibey duo, Poolside. Over this time, he's been responsible for a wide array of nu-disco-oriented tracks that have served us right in all sorts of chill settings.
Although Paradise has been very busy with the release of a new album with Poolside, he has also been producing and releasing tracks under this self-titled moniker. These tracks have had, what I consider, the signature 'Paradise' vibes. By this, I mean that they're evidently rooted in nu-disco and upbeat rhythms, however, they still feel as if they have an influence of world-music.
His latest track, "Dream With You," is the perfect example of a new, yet familiar sound coming from Paradise. He introduces the beautiful, island-like vocals from UC Santa Cruz Lecturer in Dance, Mandjou, who harmonizes perfectly with the synthy nature of the track as well as the deep and weighty nature of the saxophone. Conversely, Paradise shows his veteran presence as the well-layered and ever-evolving nature of the track keep the listener captivated, while not feeling busy or overwhelming.
He's also produced a great music video to go along with this track. View it here.
