Why do we like this?
In case you ever doubted Ratatat's street cred, I need point you no further than their Remix Mixtapes Vol I & II. The first was released in 2004; the second in 2007. Together, they contain a collection of 28 hip-hop classics, intricately laid over 100% Ratatat original backings.
That last point is probably why I admire these so much. The electronic duo didn't go out and sample a bunch of other songs to bring together shitty mashups. Nope, they straight up created their own, original content.
