Why do we like this?

Jay Som, real name Melina Duterte, treats us to a cut from her upcoming album Everybody Works. 

Her debut demonstrated her ability to cleanly capture the shoegaze sound, blending trailing mellow vocals with perfect amount of fuzz. "1 Billion Dogs" is a decidedly noisier affair, albeit a glorious one.

Full of distortion, a manic climax and Duterte's gentle vocals, it's a refreshing trip. Listen carefully for the Cure-esque melody underneath the fuzz.
