Applebottom's remix of "When You Say" is epically clubby in a late 90s sort of way, and vaguely reminds me of Orgy's 1995 version of "
Blue Monday," but all this is making me love it.
Forthcoming on Madhouse Records (the big brother of sorts to MadTech), "When You Say" is the original creation of Jay Ennes and Troy Denari. Their
original version, a classic house stomper, is just as pleasantly 90s. Applebottom has thus created a perfect balance between the two; neoclassic sentiment retained, his version is the night to Ennes and Denari's day.
Also well worth a listen is the dark disco remix from
Steve Mill & Elias Tzikas. Never short of quality, "When You Say" is everything we would expect from the tastemaker label. Follow Madhouses's
SoundCloud to keep up-to-date on the release.
